Private flights to Siquijor

Siquijor is the small island south of Bohol known for its healers, its fireflies and its waterfalls: Cambugahay's turquoise pools, the century-old balete tree, and a ring road quiet enough to circle by scooter in an afternoon. Almost everyone reaches it the same slow way, by flight or ferry to Dumaguete, a taxi to the pier and a second crossing to Siquijor or Larena, half a day from Cebu before the holiday starts.

The island does have an airstrip, near Siquijor town, but its scheduled service is a thin link from Cebu a few days a week that sells out early. On most dates a chartered light aircraft is the only way to land on the island itself. From Mactan it takes about 35 minutes, south past Bohol and across the Bohol Sea, and the price is for the whole aircraft, three seats, live in pesos and dollars.

A booking is a request the operator confirms, usually within hours, and nothing is charged until they do. Siquijor also sits mid-way on the island circuit south of Cebu, between Panglao and Camiguin, so it is a natural stop on a longer loop rather than only an out-and-back.

Why fly to Siquijor

The case for flying is the ferry timetable. The last crossing from Dumaguete leaves early, so a delayed connection means a night on the wrong island, and a short trip cannot absorb that. A 35-minute charter lands you on Siquijor with the day still ahead, and it is especially worth it for families, small groups splitting the aircraft, and anyone chaining Siquijor with Bohol or Camiguin.

The case for the ferry is cost and the view: the Dumaguete crossing is short and pleasant, and travellers already in Negros Oriental are an hour from the island by boat.
